CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent of agricultural hemp. Out of more than 113 identified cannabinoids, including THC, CBD is the most abundant non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause a “high.” It’s non-psychoactive properties, combined with a variety of experienced benefits, have been a part of alternative medicine for centuries.

Understanding Cannabinoids

One for any marijuana user’s dictionary, “cannabinoid” refers to the individual chemical compounds secreted by cannabis flowers. Specific cannabinoids bind to different receptors in our Endocannabinoid System, an expansive and essential receptor system necessary for maintaining homeostasis. The cannabinoid works by imitating compounds our brains naturally produce called endocannabinoids. Because of this diversity, individual strains can be used to activate and maintain our internal health, touching everything from our pain/sleep, mood/behavior, and gastrointestinal systems to our neurological receptors. Users of CBD range from patients experiencing seizures, headaches, anxiety, or even addiction to THC strains of marijuana.

In This Package

We have prepared a dietary supplement made by extracting CBD through coconut oil. This patented process is designed around whole plant medicine, as opposed to the chemical extraction of an isolate, to maintain the greatest array of beneficial elements. Best taken with food, and not for children.

CBD Dosing

CBD brings a colorful variety to the medicinal table. Used in the treatment of various ailments, it is important to remember that individual “dosing” recommendations are difficult to hand out. Small doses of CBD tend to stimulate while larger doses can act as a sedative. It is helpful to think of CBD as a vitamin or supplement, start small, check in with yourself, increase as necessary. Because plant medicine is generally subtle in its effects, ONDA is designed to accompany a healthy lifestyle, not to change it.

Legality

With President Obama’s signing of the Farm Bill in 2014, hemp derived products can be purchased legally in all 50 states. Agricultural hemp is rigorously tested and distinguished from medical marijuana as containing a less than 0.3% THC concentration on dry weight basis.
