Onda Dosage Guide

How Long Does It Take to Feel the Effects

CBD taken orally, such as capsules or taking the tincture, goes through your digestive system first, taking 30 to 90 minutes. Although onset takes a bit longer, the effects are longer-lasting.

CBD taken sublingually, such as a tincture dropped under the tongue, bypasses the digestive system and enters your bloodstream. The onset is much faster, with a feeling of effect within 5 to 20 minutes.

CBD applied topically to the skin, such as balm, interacts with nearby cannabinoid receptors, where they are absorbed through the skin for localized relief. The onset should be immediate to 10 minutes.

How to Find Your Sweet Spot

Consistency

Taking your CBD consistently will allow you to better judge the effects of the dosage. Taking CBD as a daily dose promotes an effective endocannabinoid system, or you can take CBD before or after an activity, to promote relaxation, or to even give you an extra boost throughout the day. There is no one ideal time, but creating consistency around why you’re taking CBD will get you a step closer to hitting your sweet spot.

Write about it

Write down the amount that you are taking, how long for the CBD to onset, plus any effects that you may feel. If your anxiety, pain, etc. has alleviated, jot that down too!

Higher dosages in the evening

Higher doses, 50mg +, may cause drowsiness, so we suggest taking these doses in the evening.

Why Your Dosage With Onda May Be Lower Compared to Other CBD Brands

Onda infuses the entire cannabis flower and its leaves from start to finish, delivering Whole Hemp™ CBD. The whole plant of Whole Hemp™ CBD refers to the infusion process of this particular compound. This infusion process – that is, pulling the plant from the hemp fibers into coconut oil – still contains the other healthful cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, THC, as well as the natural range of beneficial terpenes, flavonoids (cannaflavins), antioxidant-rich chlorophyll, polyphenols, amino acids, and other healthy fatty acids. This results in an expanded volume of therapeutic components versus what you receive in a CBD isolate product.

The active compounds of cannabis seem to work more effectively when consumed together in a synergistic way. This is called the entourage effect. There is such a significant benefit to experiencing the entourage effect. The Entourage Effect is a theory hypothesized in 1999 by Dr. Raphael Mechoulam that proposes a synergistic relationship between the active compounds cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids in Cannabis plants. These relationships will both change and enhance medicinal effects depending on the profile of each cultivar (strain).

Terpenes (pronounced tr-peenz) are aromatic compounds that create the characteristic scent of many plants, such as cannabis, pine, and lavender, as well as fresh orange peel. These same compounds are also the building blocks for larger and more complex molecules, such as steroids, pigments, and vitamins. There are estimated to be 25,000 different terpene structures that exist in nature and Onda is packed with a handful of these. Onda contains terpenes ranging from linalool, myrcene, beta-caryophyllene, humulene, limonene, geraniol, and alpha-pinene. Terpenes show a wide range of physiological influences including sedation, euphoria, anxiety relief, and anti-inflammatory response.
